T-Mobile is suppose to give a lower price for customers without rebate. I would be VERY surprised if they did give you a rebate as it only applies for new customers only. When you read the rebate, that is what it says.

mobilezen,
Could you help explain again what's difference between these two stores?
1. Regular T-Mobile store, T610, pay $80 and get mail-in rebate $100 when you open the new account with 1-yr contract.
2. T-Mobile authorized store (I found a few in China Town here), T610, pay $0 and get $35 cash rebate+$100 mail-in rebate when you open the new account with 1-yr contract.
Both of stores provide the same phones with T-Mobile logo. If phone has problem, T-Mobile will replace it.
Just curious, thanks.

T-Mobile or actually any provider's authorized (aka third party /indirect) store gets a higher commission for activating phones thus can lower their prices on the actual handsets. Problem is if you want to return the phone within their return policy period, they usually charge a 15% or higher restocking fee.

Thanks. I do hear those stores of #2 option only provide 5 days for you to return. If after 5 days, it may end up like what you said, the higher restocking fee...

I do appreciate your detailed explanation.
