I can not imagine why you would need $345 cables. I will admit that better cables can help alot with noise rejection but, not $345. I think that is for people who want to say, I have the best I can buy, whether they can hear a difference or not. I personally have Scosche EFX in my MDX, $25 for 2 sets at Wally World. And Rockford's in my TL, $50 for 2 sets. Both are great and do what they are suppose to do for me.

You could open a real can of worms with a question like this!

I've always said I'm more about the bang for the buck rather than the high fullutin name brand.

A decent set of double/triple shielded interconnects should compare respectively against most major brands.

$100 should buy you a decent set of interconnects that will more than foot the bill for you. You may not be able to impress someone with their name, so just do so with your sound!!

I do.....

AcuraX2,

Nope, I haven't been able to get the HU I want from Alpine yet. It's been released to Crutchfield but I'm not paying their price. It should hit mmxpress or carmedia1 in the next week or two. That will save me ~$150 or so.

All pics of my installation fun are at: http://www.cardomain.com/id/bozzchem

I'll probably be doing a session on installing 6.5 mids in the doors since I just happened to come across a set of ID 6.5 mids. I'll probably ditch the Polks from the rear and put the 5.25 mids back there. I've never been a Polk fan but I can say that the install was very easy. Then again, nothing great comes easy.

I'll probably stick one set of the Polks in my truck since the current JBL's REALLY suck and I'll pawn the other set to a guy I work with.

In retrospect, I knew better than to buy them but I got a great deal on them from ebay.

Now I'm looking for a set of IDQ 10s so I can fit my daughter's stroller!

Check my pic page to stay tuned!

I usually end up payin all retail prices, but why? I just likt the security of the warranty. Like my Alpine CDA. I went through 4 of those units and if I bought it off of Ebay or something I would have proballly be screwed.

not if you deal with the guy that i go thru.. he warranties the products for the life of the manufacturers warranty....but 9 times out of 10 you dont have anyproblems... but i guess for the piece of mind then it might be worth it to pay retail...

Yes, he said he doesn't know when it's coming in. His price on the 6 disc changer was good though. I'm going to keep checking with him over the next week or two.

I'm pretty sure that the FTC has ruled that as long as you buy a product brand new, the manufacturer HAS to honor the warranty regardless of where you purchased it.

Of course, that may mean you have to deal directly with the manufacturer which can take up to 8 weeks!

One thing I have to give to Crutchfield is that they'll ship your replacement to you before you even send the defective unit back...I've had it done twice.

It's kind of a crapshoot. I buy everything with a Platinum Visa card so I'm protected either way.
