How many amps you running. Look on cardomain or check out autozone & pepboys. 51RD or D34/78. Not sure bout the D34 but you want at least 800A.

I tend to wonder about the battery you have... have you load-tested it?

I like Optima Yellow-tops, but I don't think that switching from a healthy battery to one would solve that problem...

when i had the stock battery, i put the sysyem in. when the car would sit in idle and the bass would hit, the gauges only (not the headlight or anything else) would dim a little bit. it was hardly noticeable, but if you looked hard enough, you could tell.

the battery died 6 months later. so my problem could have been due to a weak battery.

what i know is that ever since i put in the yellow top... about 6 months ago, it's been absolutely fine. i even had an indash TV installed (not sure if this draw's more power or not than a stock radio) and everything is still perfectly fine.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great upgrade, and I have one in my Honda CR-V. I just think that a lot of problems are like what you stated - a weak OEM battery at the end of its useful life - and the Yellow tops and Exides last a lot longer in those conditions.

It sounds like your battery is on it's last legs.

ya your battery is bad - the yellow top will only help with your car off because of its deep cycle capabilities but it wont help much vs. a good regular battery because you dont have enough power drain. I have 1100+ watts RMS with the stock alternator and a good battery and everything is fine.

Get one

'sup?

yeah, i had a stock battery in before i got a yellow optima and it made a world of difference (the stock one probably sucked to begin with anyways).

I have a Pioneer Class-D 1000 watt amp, 2 pioneer 12's with a dvd/navi/rearcam
and when i was playing my dvd's/audio before my old batt just couldn't handle her. Now with the optima, i don't have any problems at all. go to pepboys, they'll give you 5-10 bucks if you switch out your battery in the parking lot and bring it in. Just make sure to bring your own tools.
