I think Acura has plans to release XM radio with the next RL model. But in my opinion, i wouldn't get it myself. i heard the pricing is somewhere between $15-$50 (not sure). It's not worth it for me, how long are u in the car anyways? Like most ppl, i drive, and i want to get out of the car as fast as i can, i don't want to spend my time sitting in the car listening to satillete radio. XM radio is almost like Cable TV, a million channels, but nothing u want to watch. XM radio will get digital signal, but how bad is the regular analog signal ur getting? Everytime i listen to the radio, it's clear (unless i drive under an overpass), i'm not gonna pay money for somehting that i can get for free

Cool

I'll tell you what. The XM Radio is an excellent product. It will make driving much more enjoyable. Think about the leaving the city. How much time do you spend "surfing" for a station that comes in clear enough that is something you actually like (example: not Country music). The quality is very very good and the technology is really interesting. There is even a display for the song title and artist on the radio. Each channel will have the songs listed on the display so if you find something that you like and have never heard, you know what it is.

The price is really quite reasonable (about $10 a month). For as many channels as are given, this is pretty good.

Heck, the CEO (Hugh Panero) is a fellow Acura driver. So give em a chance.

My $.02

Mark

I plan on getting it as soon as it comes to this area. TL reception here is the ****z. XM is 9.95/mo while Sirius just jacked their price to 12.95. You can go to XM's web site and see their channel offerings and even listen to a few. I want the receiver that can be used for both car and home audio.

I like the idea of XM so much that I bought some of their stock back when it was $5.50/sh. If you have ever been to a car show you will realize that satallite radio is going to take off. Just look at Digtal Cable and DSS everybody has it now.

Yea, I was watching it at 3-4 and didn't buy - no cash. But watching go to 15-16 made me kick myself a few times. I work for Boeing who lauched their sats, so I knew they were goin to move up. Damn, coulda had a three bagger. Hope you sold at 15-16!

Brewboy, you don't have to wait till it comes to your area. It is satellite-based. As soon as you can get a radio (over the internet I suppose), you can get it activated and use it.

According to XM's web site and news announcements on yahoo (symbol XMSR) the first areas will be San Diego and Houston around Sept 10 or so. Then after ,they will expand coverage. They want to ramp up the hype up for xmas. you know - marketing. I think Sirius is a few months behind.

I hope they do good, I'm gonna buy some stock, more like 45 shares, just to see how they do. And I'm gonna look into Sirius too. Hey they could be gold mines here.
