OnStar/Navigation and Remote Start Problems
OnStar/Navigation and Remote Start Problems
I wrote a post a couple of months ago about how my OnStar and Navigation seem to crap out not so long after I got my Remote Start Installed (DEI 551t w/ bypass). Even after I got the Remote Start unistalled the OnStar and Navi still didn't work. I brought car back to Acura, they had to get a whole new Navigation system installed. The guys at Acura told me that they don't think that my remote start was an isssue. So I had the remote start reinstalled and everything has been cool for the last 2 months..Until recently, the same problem happened again. The OnStar doesn't work and the Navi Voice is gone. So I ask again, do you guys think that the remote start is messing up the Navigation Unit?? Right now my car is at Acura and the techs disassembled everything trying to track down the problem....Any insights will be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance.
i dunnno but ive had the same problem....and for sure it only happens when the remote start is used, but if you just pull out the fuse on the passenger side, navi/telematics fuse it will reset and your good too go...
I know EXACTLY what the problem is....I have researched it and have corrected it on a few TL's already.....there is an accessory wire that needs to be powered up DURING remote start which is not listed in the installers wire diagram that he goes by. It's not his fault. I can't remember the wire color off hand, but I THINK it's a solid yellow wire. It's very simple, just have the installer test the 2 wires not tapped in the ignition harness to see which one is an accessory.
