Is one JL 10w6v2 enough?
I have one 10" Kicker L7 powered by a MTX 6500d and it is more than enough. Best of both worlds. Good tight sound quality and the ability to go crazy if I want. I think the 10w6 would do the job in a good enclosure located in the right spot.

Hi Geodosan, I have the exact setup you're inquiring about, one 10w6v2 powered by 1 500/1 mono. I made the relatively small sealed enclosure out of MDF. It only occupied about 0.63 cu ft space. I was skeptical about the performance out of such a small box. After the install was done, I put it to the test. Let me tell you, I had to turn the input sensitivity way down on the amp because my entire trunk, license plate and sunglass holder/sunglasses started rattling with bass tunes. The bass dropped really hard. I mostly listen to pop/rock/dance/contemporary music and the bass is so tight and clean. You can't go wrong with this setup, other than setting you back about $800.
Thanks for the replies everyone. The reasons I don't wanna go for the W7 are cost and size. The W7 would force me to get the 1000/1 amp and the box would be too deep, since the magnet on the W7 is huge. I don't want the enclosure to impede my spare access.
Can't wait to get rid of this blo$e system. And if one more person tells me the blo$e sounds good, I'm gonna tell them to walk. LOL.

well if you got the w7 you could push that nicely with the 500/1 i think the 1000/1 would be a little overkill... as for the size... yeah you will definaltely have to give up a little more room... but you will be getting a lot better speaker....
