non navi to navi conversion ques.help!

i know a while back i saw some posts on sucessfull non navi to navi conversions. i searched, but could not find the links... any help you guys could give me on this topic would be MUCH APPRECIATED! like cost, difficulty, etc

Is the navi screen just a normal double-din size? Anyone have measurements?
