Lightbulb no code, I'VE GOT THE SOLUTION!

for those who had their radio reset by disconnecting your battery or something.
soo.. reading around after days.. i've finally ran into a man thats given me good information! thanks. can't remember your SN off the top of my head, but i've got a thread with your help on there. props to you.

places people have told me to look for the code. if you could, try this first.
1. fuse box under hood, or one of those boxed under the hood.
2. in trunk.. somewhere, i'm not sure.
3. under ashtray
4. glove compartment
5. behind HU

if you can't find your code around. try this.
1. HOLD NUMBERS 1 AND 6 WITH RADIO OFF (MAKE SURE YOU DIDN'T USE ALL YOUR ATTEMPTS) if you did, just diconnect battery and reconnect and see if it was reset
2. TURN ON RADIO HOLDING THOSE NUMBERS. screen should display 4 numbers and change to another 4 numbers. WRITE THOSE DOWN!
3. CALL LOCAL DEALERSHIP GIVING THEM THOSE NUMBERS. they should go and get you the code you need to input into your radio. i think its a 5 digit code.

props to those who gave me all this info, i'm not taking the credit. just collecting it

_______hope this helped

You should mention what car you're talking about... this is a cross-model forum.

You should have posted this in your other thread, or at least posted a link to this thread, so I didn't go through all the trouble of typing up a reply and then finding out you didn't really need it any more.

Once you get your code, if you have problems entering it to reactivate the radio, try this:
put key in ignition in the accessories position, disconnect the negative cable from the battery (with a 10mm socket wrench), leave key in ignition with battery disconnected for 2 hours, reconnect battery, turn radio on and enter code. Don't ask why, but this worked on my 05 TL. PS My fuse box cover is near the center of the engine closer to the driver's side.

Thats exactly what i did. I called my local dealer and gave them the 8 digit number that i got by holding 1/6. However they refused to give out the radio code becaues i didn't buy the car at their dealership. They said i'd have to bring it in and leave it at the service dept to retrieve the radio code for $140. Fu*King insane mofos
