New HU w/o replacing everything?...Confused

Sorry to beat a dead horse guys, but I need to verify a couple a things before I spend $$ I don't have. Originally I just wanted to replace my HU (to get mp3/wma/SAT functions) and keep everything else stock. I've read over the forums the last couple of days and this is what I've "learned" - but it's not real clear.

If I replace my stock HU with an aftermarket, then I must replace speakers, amp, and sub as well because of impedence issues? So I can't replace ONLY the HU? Is this true?

I also saw this thread , but is this assuming I have another aftermarket amp to push the F/R speakers?

The bottom line is I want an aftermarket HU, so what else do I need to make it work? I already have the metra kit. Thanks guys

I saw these other threads as well, but still not clear.

You can replace the headunit and you'll be fine.. Just get a Metra Wiring harness..

You will lose steering wheel controls and the Navigation voice if you have Navi.

Ignore that thread it only pertains to the 99-03 TL because they have a factory sub. The CL doesn't have the factory sub but does have tweeters..

If you want to replace the speakers you will have to replace the stock amp. Unless you purchase a stock replacement upgrade kit from Elduderino.

depending on the type of HU they may have an adapter for your steering wheel controls...

Thanks guys. That's what I was thinking, then I just so happened to be in Circuit City and I asked an installer about it. They said the HU would burn out because of the 2 ohm Bose speakers. I started 2nd guessing then.

For some reason I thought the CLS had a factory sub.
I don't know a lot about impedence, so will a new HU sound decent with the stock speakers and amp?

BTW, This is the HU that I'm looking at. It has the main features that I want and it still matches the green gauge lights.
