New headunit, will it sound the same?

I plan on buying a new headunit for 03 TL. I have a few Qs. Will the stock speakers sound the same or worse?? Please tell me. I am thinking of going with an Alpine headunit.

It should improve the sound quality I am a Pioneer man myself.

If you are going to keep the stock speakers, make sure you don't bypass the eq. I bypassed it and it sounds like crap but I will be installing new amp, speakers and sub next week.
