just look at best buy prices. a decent headunit would be like 200 and the alpine ipod connector was 200. if your willing to go another way, get a pioneer headunit and the ipod connector for that is only like 30 bucks

If you are OK with RCA in only, I think Alpine has the same ~$30 part.

is there a difference in sound quality between the RCA and the full integration?
Can I get a link to the Alpine RCA hookup?

dont get the KCA-420i (ipod connector) cause IMHO thats a waste. itll make your iPod feel more like an MP3 CD player the way youll have to scroll through hundreds of artists, or thousands of songs.
go with the KCA-121B, i think it is. its either an M-BUS or Ai-NET to RCA converter which you would then just run a short RCA cord. this lets you use the iPod itself. and if you wanted, buy the Belkin Auto Charger. it has a plug for a mini jack right on it so youll only have one wire connected to you iPod (the one from the bottom)...
check my sig to see what im using... its way cheaper, and more convenient IMO. the converter was like 20 bcuks or something, way better than the 200 or whatever the KCA-420i costs.
