i just got my stock radio replaced with an aftermarket pioneer head unit and i have 2 12 sub's in the trunk.. but when i turn my car on and listen to the radio.. there is a buzzing sound. the guys at fry's told me to get A/C sound filters for my radio and i did.. but i still hear the buzzing noise. anybody know what i can do to fix this?

Never heard of this issue.

Does the buzz...go up and down with the volume?

who installed your system? I'd take it back to them it's definitely a install related issue.

If they didn't have your battery disconnected when they installed the harness and speaker lines, they may have popped a micro fuse on the pioneer's board. They hosed your install and the only fix is to replace the micro fuse (which most people aren't up to) which means a new HU.

Much more info on buzzing Pioneers over on the12volt.

Its next to impossible to diagnose this over the internet, but I'm not feeling good about your install.

Damn...that sounds like a shitty problem to deal with...

And I agree with the moderators that it's going to be difficult to diagnose over the web.

Good luck dlin005

Reach, another way to "fix" the buzzing caused by a blown pico fuse is to ground the RCA's to the chassis of the hu. From what I've heard, this is the best alternative if you don't have the means/cash to replace the entire hu...

It's not a complicated install unless you replaced all your speakers also.. It's actually a easy install with the right harness..

Hi I don't know if this would help but i just replaced my headunit and installed a sub in my 01 CL-S, running stock speakers. What i found was that when it was running off the stock amp the sound wasn't so clear and was a slight buzzing. I ended up removing the harness from the stock amp and splicing the wires bypassing the amp altogether (running speakers off deck power). This cleared up the sound and the buzzing.

Cheers

Having the same problem with my pioneer d3 aswell. What it is is engine noise. Happens when you hook up your front end to an amp. You need to ground the rca's and speaker wire behind the deck. When you drive you can litterly listen to your alternator winding up and down.
