New H/U but stock speakers/amp 2k1 CL
I have read, browsed, and searched and I just can't to seem an answer for something. I just got a 2k1 CL-S in great shape, totaly stock.
I have lots of plans for the vehicle, but I need to start with the basics and get a new head unit in. For now I will be leaving the stock speakers and (seemngly) amp. What I am not understanding is exactly how I will be connecting audio. Since the stock harness passes audio to the amp, I am guessing that running the RCAs from the pre-amp out on my new head unit to the existing harness will be the right thing to do, despite a normal install going a bit differently (usually taking the output from the internal amp on the aftermarket head unit right into the harness).
I have already ordered the audio switch so that I dont loose my nav.
I will be running a 6au cable to the trunk for an inverter, class D amp, xm module, dvd player, etc. I know there is a spot on the drivers side of the firewall to go thru, but does anyone have any tps on routing? I would think along the trim at the door sills but I dont want to mess with any SRS sensors. Am I clear to go there?
