Neon Footwell Install

I want to put in two neon footwell lights in the car underneath the dash.

Please tell me how to do the following that someone else did but whose e-mail is no longer active to respond to my questions:
OR if you can direct me to detailed install instructions with pics (if possible)

"I wired them together, connecting the +12v to constant power and connect the ground of the lights to a SPDT switch. One terminal of the switch I connected to ground. One terminal I connected to the door trigger wire (located in the passenger fuse box) going through a diode first. This arrangment allows the lights to come on whenever a door is opened and when the car is first disarmed, just like the domelight. I can also flip the switch and leave them on permanently, like while cruizin. Or I can leave the switch in the middle position and have the lights disabled."

Thanks in advance (I know this one is tough to explain)

I'll get you some pics by tomorrow nite and I'll show you how to deal with the problem you have with the DC/AC power converter too.

I didnt have a chance to take the pics.

Anyway, for you DC/AC problem, you will need a SPST relay. Wire the relay so that the ignition wire will trigger the switch to the DC/AC coverter's power supply. That way your converter will be isolated when the engine is off.
