Need Sub Help with New HU
Hey im going to install a Avic-d3 on my 03 tl, and i was told that the hu has problems with the sub by the mechanic, now i found https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...3&page=1&pp=25 here but i dont know which method is the better one with the D3, there are a whole lot of ways to do it here and a whole lot of reading,
does anyone know what i need to do, something i can print out and show my mechanic cuz i cant explain this complex stuff, something that will work with the D3

anyone can help me out with this?? i know you have to use rca for the sub or the amp or something but this page is really confusing with differnt people saying differnt things, can someone break it down for me so that i can print it out and give it to my mechanic?
This worked on my 2003 TL
Go to this link. I found it somewhere on this forum.

Click the Schematics tab on the left side of page. Print out all four images.
Be sure the orange wire, pin 1 of "A" connector for the old HU ( check wiring diagram ) is connected to the remote turn-on wire from the new HU. (Check new HU installation instructions for correct connection.)
spliced the OEM preamp wires at EQ connector pins to the new HU sub output as follows:
( pin 3 BLU/GRN to HU SUB RCA preamp output + center wire)
( pin 10 ORN/BLU to HU SUB RCA preamp output - outside wire)
If you are using the existing preamp wiring to the AMP behind the back seat, be sure to ground the grey wire on pin 8 on EQ connector. Pin 8 is identified on the wiring diagram as the noise shield for the existing wiring.
These diagrams were a really big help to me.
Good Luck,
RJay
