Need some info on infinity subs

My friend is looking to get a good 10" sound quality sub for his car,and I was looking into infinitys with him. I have heard that these are great products in terms of both sq and spl,and I was wondering if anyone could give some advice on which of their 4 products to get. I believe they are (in order of ascending price) reference, kappa, perfect, and basslink. Would any of the 4 be a good choice? The references are reasonably priced, is the quality good though? The basslink seems cool with the sub/amp combo, but i have no knowledge on it, so any insight would be welcomed. thanks!!

The Perfects for sure are the best out of the infinity product line, heard them in a friends car and to me sounded better then the other subs

The Basslinks are not their best product...reference is good...kappa is better, and you can hear a difference...but perfect well...it's perfect. My brother used to run two Infinity 12.1 Perfects before they were stolen...they sounded absolutely beautiful. I love installing Inifinity...and it's all I use in my house. Harmon Kardon puts out a lot of good stuff....including Inifinity and JBL and JBL Pro. Go with the perfects...10.1's shouldn't be more than $130 shipped.

Indy on tl thank you for your input. And austin, as always thank for your thoughtful and knowledgeable advice, I appreciate getting another opinion. I don't think my friend can go wrong with the perfect sub he is probably getting them soon. I am thinking about getting perfect mids myself, and the subs too maybe, although I may want something that bumps louder. Just wondering, don't they retail for over $200, not $130?

The 10.1 perfects? The key word you used is "retail". Yes, they probably do retail for that much...I never pay retail though so I wouldn't know

Well, speaking from experience i would say to go with the Perfects. i've got 2 12's in my car and it booms. i would get it in a sealed box. they work best in that type. i've only got 300 RMS running them. they can handle 350 i think. but in any case they are well worth the money. i can atest.

Go to ebay and you can get them for $130.00 (10's) and $150.00 for the 12's.Those subs can handle 500watts rms with no problem and that is when you get the best out of it.Take it from me.

Yes, you will get the full warranty when you buy it from ebay, just make sure you dont buy it from an individual. You can check ikesound (on ebay) or another dealer.A lot of dealers sell their stuff on ebay.Well it's up to you to do what you want.

Not true. I am sure a lot of dealers sell their stuff online...even more on ebay...but I hate to tell you this...only about a dozen are officially authorized to do this. Those are ones like Crutchfield and CarToys...and a few others, that overcharge so much you may as well buy from a local dealer. You will not find an authorized dealer that also gives you competitive prices. It just won't happen, and they use their clout as authorized dealers to jack the price up. Most dealers online say they're authorized to sell Infinity...and they are...just not online. I suggest you call Infinity before buying anything...because I'll bet money 9.999 times out of 10 they aren't authorized. So yeah you can do what you want...just know that you'll be screwed if they bust...
