Need some Help (2nd Gen TL NAV)
Hey guys, I am a 12V guy by nature, and want to connect a back up camera in my 2003 TL-S w/ Nav. I know the trunk mounted unit has all the wires that connect to the dash mounted monitor. I have no desire to spend hundreds of dollars on a box that connects everything for me, as I can easily do it myself. Does anyone have the wire diagram or pin identification for the OEM harness? I plan on just using some DPDT relays connected to the reverse light to activate the image, so I just really need to know the pinout of the OEM connector. I looked all over online and our site, but no-one seems to have the OEM DVD NAV pinout info. Thanks in advance...I will do a how to sticky for anyone who is interested, it should only take (2) Bosche relays (about $10), a back up camera (about $20), and some wiring and connectors. All of the wiring necessary will be in the trunk (no pulling apart the dash). Please let me know if you have the info...

Meh from what I understand and being a former installer you CAN NOT just hook a camera to the 2G navi screen. It's because of the type of signal it needs, some RGB weirdo format. I'm yanking my radio and installing a DDIN HU w/ Nav and camera input for my back up camera needs..... But if you wanna try I'll look for the diagram in my factory service manual. May take me awhile though as it's scrolling through over 2000 pages on a computer screen

Well, here's the rub. The screen is a standard video display. It's input is either a direct composite or possibly a RGB, however, I the only difference is the wiring configuration. I have decided to just take a standard composite video cable and run it to an independent screen. I bet I will find the signal and the ground for the video (I am almost willing to bet they are insulated together to be ran independent of the other wiring to alleviate any grounding and/or power issues.) Once I isolate the wires, I will simply wire up some relays that will be triggered by my reverse light (also in the trunk area), and connect a video camera's image to be sent through the same wires, only from a back-up camera's image instead of the DVD NAV's image. Once the vehicle is no longer in reverse, the image will swap back to the DVD NAV unit...I will take some pics, incase anyone else would like to do this...

I'm pretty sure the video is not separate, but hey if you do find it awesome! I do know I've read other threads of people trying to feed video to that screen and it seems like its a nightmare. I know I've read its RGB format... If you do figure this out please post up a DIY with pictures!

First one was Connector "A" , Connector "B", this one, has two different diagrams... one for 99'-02' models and one for 03' models which is the one I have posted here.... Let me know if you need the other for some reason....

OMG You Fuc*ing Rock!!!! This is perfect!!!! Thank You!!!! It is Composite Video (Like I mentioned it may be earlier). I will just get a camera with a composite out, and then use all of the other signals that are right there! Thank You so much!!!! Saved me a bunch of time. I will definitely do a write up, find a RBG camera that is compatible and do everything in the trunk, easy peasy!

Not sure if the Nav is different component wise but I do KNOW the wiring diagrams are different. I'll look through my manual and see if it has the diagrams for that year, I think it does. And Groovemaster if you need anymore just let me know. And PLEASE take LOTS of pictures as you go and make us all a DIY!!!

Give me a little while to search through the book, I'll post you up some diag's shortly. It all works the same but wire colors are different on 99's, different again on 01-02' and yet again on 03's. Will take me a little while as the factory service manual is over 2000 pages long and it's on my laptop....
