Need opinions on speakers

What what be the best bang for the buck for replacing the rear 6x9's. Im not adding any extra amps nor subs to my car, just replacing stock speakers. Im just looking for 6x9's that give better cleaner bass than the stock ones. Right now im looking at the Infinity Kappa 692.5i, pretty pricey tho running at $160. Since i am only using the stock amp, would it even be worth getting that good of quality set of speakers?

Not really worth replacing your 6x9's.

The reason is that your 6x9s are crossed over with the stock amp to only use low frequencies.

You would be better off looking into the alpine replacement setups for the front and doors (see other posts in this section) or just getting a small sub.

There have been many posts by people who have replaced their OE 6x9's with new ones and reported better bass.

This makes a certain amount of sense... if the aftermarket speaker sounds better than factory playing full-range, it should sound better playing just bass. The part that's a bit counterintuitive is that you buy 6x9 full-range speakers - coaxes or the dreaded 3-ways - enginneded to play full range, and then ask them to play a very narrow set of notes - like 2 octaves!

The money spent on a speaker's tweeter or mid/tweeter combo is wasted in that sense... but if you are OK spending that money just to get better bass - go for it. I would STRONGLY recommend against getting a 3-way 6x9, cause all you care about is the woofer, and the woofer in most 2-way and 3-way 6x9's are identical.

I don't know of anyone who has dropped in the MB Quart 269 woofers out of the seperates kit... it would definitely play lower than factory, but I don't know if it would play as loud as factory, and I suspect it wouldn't. I run those with a 75W x 4 amp and they do great in the R deck.
