Question Need help installing a laptop in my car

Hey,
I wanted to install my laptop in my car using it as an Music Juckbox. Is there any sort of mounting platform for laptops or anything. I was planning on just getting a casset that connects to a cd player but instead plug it into the headseat jack on my laptop and just use it for music. If anybody has done this let me know, any info would be great. Thanx

Check this place out. My buddy bought from them I think. He did the same thing as you, however it was in a Cherokee.

Yeah well...I won't admit to it until it's done That way no one can make fun of me for bragging and it ending up being bad

yes, if u dont want to go through all the trouble austin is going through and simply want to run ur current laptop, that will work w/the cassette, just be ready to hear some distortion.

i do this for now. but will have a dedicated line in for my laptop to the hu when i upgrade to the jvc kdsh99. then there shouldnt be distortion(just like in my previous setup w/eclipse hu/eq)

btw, while ur at it, why not play dnlded divx movies throught the sound system, i do!!!!

All I can say is....heh heh...heh heh heh heh....heh. Wait for a meet over here in Austin, TX...you'll get plenty of pics. I won't let anyone see till then. I want it to be perfect. Oh and by the way...my system untweaked hit around 130dB last night...and my Dolby 5.1 works like a charm

systek:
As for the RF amps and whatnot...just let me know...they're going fast (the old models) but I bet I can get you some cheap new models as well. I've got a good RF and JL hookup. Haven't spoken with my JVC guy in a LONG time (plus IMHO they overprice everything) so well I can try to find out for you. I don't have a direct contact with the manufacturer....I have a guy who does...so it won't be rock bottom price.

And about my movies...you'll see SOME of my rips circulating on Morpheus and mIRC and Direct Connect. I have 2 CD cases...one full one mostly empty....about 360 cd's worth of movies

But I will tell you a little something...the computer is built and done...I just haven't found/made a suitable box for it...so officially the computer is not installed. It still runs everything fine though not installed I'm thinking about upgrading it's sound card right before I put it in the car, so I can have an optical audio in....

Well sorta...I mean I built the whole computer already...but I can take pictures of that...my b'day is Dec 10 so I hope to get a digicam...then or Christmas...then I'll be taking pictures galore. I already posted pictures of the equipment which you saw . As I build the fiberglass into the rear of the car...and as I finish ripping the car apart...I assure you you'll see more . Or I could just make you go nuts and only post everything at the end...heh heh...
