you'll probably need to run a power wire from the battery to the trunk to power the amp of the basslink (i'm not sure what power is needed for the basslink but to be sure, run the power from the car battery). you won't need to remove the headunit. you can just tap into the rear speakers to get the signal for the amp of the basslink. then get the remote turn on for the basslink from the stock amp....i think it's the yellow/white wire on the bose amp. pretty simple....the most difficult part is running the power wire form the battery.....which really isn't that difficult.

hey, thanks for replying,

but i have a question(s), what is the remote? will it still work if i dint buy that little knob? is there a way to control the bass from the main unit itself?

And when u say tap into your rear speakers, do u mean just wire the sub into the back speakers near the trunk? like just cut the wire and attach it and retape it?

And how do i connect it to the battery?...are there any specific tools and wiring kits and stuff like that ? ill need?

sorry, im stupid when it comes to this subject

if you tap into the factory amp, you dont need a line output convertor because the wiring coming off the factory amp is already line level. the factory amp is located on the passanger side of the trunk, behind the carper shit and adjacent to the jack and tools location. there is a template here somewhere showing which wires are what and how to tap into it. the only wires i ran to the front of the car were the power cable to the battery (there is a hole in the firewall right above the gas pedal in the car, theres a foam thing blocking the hole, but just knock it out, its not to hard) and the other wire i ran was for the remote gain control, its an optional knob that allows you to asjust the gain of the basslink from inside your car instead of going to the trunk to fuck around with it. the remote wire (remote power for the amp, not the remote gain control i just mentioned) can also be tapped into the factory amp. thats all you have to do. that and find a decent ground. my basslink ground wire is currently grounded to the bolt of the high mount break light...its a shitty ground location because the wire is hanging from it, but its the only ground i could find that worked without actually boring a hole through the trunk floor pan.

you'll need:

power from the battery - you can get a basic amp install kit online or a local store.

input signal from the stock amp

remote wire - turn on signal for the basslink, use the one at the stock amp, it signals the basslink to power up

ground - find a good spot

the 'little knob' is an optional remote bass adjustment. there is an adjustment on the basslink. the knob allows adjustment remotely.

Is this for real? Ok, this is what you do....... go to BestBuy, Circuit City, or your local shop, and ask for an Amp Install kit. Then read the directions in the kit, thats what I did for my first amp install. Also Illerate would imply you can't read, you mean you don't have a clue when it comes to install.

mr.big....i think it would be wiser to pay someone $70 to install the amp for you. no offense intended but you might end up messing with the wrong wires....which might lead to you to blowing some fuses or frying some wires or catching your car on fire due to the improper install of the power wire. it's a pretty simple install....but if you're not sure what to do, better safe than sorry. again....i don't mean to offend you. if you were in va, i'd be more than happy to do the install or show you how to do it.
