I ran it to a fuse that turns off when the car turns off with a switch huked to it, incase I wanna turn off the bass...Sometimes my g/f gets headaches so I have to turn the bass off...jus my .02...but fair warning if u hook it up to a fuse, u have the chance of when turning off the car ure subs will hit a low bass note for a split second.

You know the cigarette lighter in the center console, it only supplies power when the car is on. I bought an adapter and just cut off the accessory end and crimped a sleeve connecter on the end. From there, I just ran it thru on of the screw holes, under the carpet straight back, up through the ski hole opening and directly to my amp. I, like d3rk, bought a plug with a built in switch on the back of it so I can cut off the bass whenever I want.
Hope that helped.
