Is this an alpine head unit? If it isn't..all you need to do is ground the parking wire, I believe.

Is this true for all except for Alpine? I am considering the Pioneer, but don't know if yo can get the DVD to play while the vehicle is moving.

BTW I have a 5sp, no automatic here.

Yea, all i had to do was to ground it. What's the difference about the pioneer that makes it special?

I like it better, plus, the in dash DVD is cheap, and so is the non-DVD head unit/monitor. This is much cheaper than getting 1 unit that does everything. Plus, I like the way a 2-DIN setup looks. I used to have an Alpine 7995 on top of the 5755 add-on DSP, and it looked clean as hell. So I'm looking to stack the Pioneer monitor on top of the Pioneer in dash DVD.

What's the price for each unit? I like to keep everything simple. one unit. I paid $1200 for the unit. Plus, i love the touch screen.

Well, the top 6.5" screen/CD player is about $450, while the bottom DIN DVD player is about $350. It is about $800.

And yeah, I really like the Clarion unit you have, but it's a bit out of my $ range.

cheaper is not always better... i also bought the pioneer cuz they were cheaper and it had all the features i was looking for.... but i soon found out why it was cheaper... the build quality was lacking... i had to send my pioneer unit in for service 3 times is less than a year... now you can ask yourself it this is really worth the little bit of money you are going to say.... and i thought that i just got a bad unit so i asked my local pioneer/premiere dealer and they told me that they have had quit a few pioneer motorized units fail....

oh one thing i forgot to mention... everytime i sent it in to pioneer for service it took about 2-3 months to get back... so out of the 11 months i owned the unit it was in my car for approx 3-4 months....

Since your already spending 800, why not another 400? To each is own.
