need help on 500/1 jl amp

CHECK THIS, I GOT A 500/1 JL MONO BLOCK AMP FOR MY 12 INCH EARTHQUAKE MAGMA. THING IS MY AMP IS CUTTING ON AND OFF. I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS MY BATTERY SO I CHANGED IT TO A OPTIMA YELLOW TOP AND GOT A 1 FARAD CAP. BUT ITS STILL CUTTING OFF. DO YOU GUYS KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH MY AMP

What size Power wire are you using? How many amps is your breaker? How is your ground?

ait i got a stinger 4 gage power wire running to the jl amp and an 8 gage wire to my 4 channel earthquake amp. The ground is put on tight on the bottom of the trunk the amps on the fuse for the 4 gage is 150amps and the 8 gage is 80amps
