Need Help

ok guys this is what I did today....I wired my amp and sub...ok now heres the problem theres not enough power goin to it....I removed the rear seat and got to the bose amp. I sliced into the brown wire and taped into my neg and positive I used a RCA card that came wit my kit i just cut it in half. Taped one end and plug the other into my aftermarket amp. taped the orange remote wire. Somtimes the bass sounds great but to low, then it will start poppin, and then when the volume is down all the way my bose sub makes a weird ass voice like funky poppin... My next thing is a pac adapter how do i hook that up.

That sounds like you have something grounded dude. I have no idea what you meant by "I sliced into the brown wire and taped into my neg and positive I used a RCA card that came wit my kit i just cut it in half. Taped one end and plug the other into my aftermarket amp."

Now you have three possible problems...either 1) the amp isn't getting enough juice 2) the signal is wired wrong/badly or 3) the amp is messed up. This is easy to test for...first make sure that the amp is properly grounded (nice fat ground cable screwed into the chassy and sanded around where it's screwed in)...as well as the power cable is secured. Then get something like a CD player...and get or make a 3.5mm (1/4") jack ->2 RCA outputs and plug that in. If everything sounds fine it's your signal wiring...otherwise it's your amp or power cable. If it's the latter...you'll rewire it and if that doesn't work stick it in someone else's car...or use another amp...if it works in someone else's car it's your wiring...and if the replacement amp works its your amp. Aside from that I'd have to hear the noise and see your setup man. Good luck.

when u say the amp isnt gettin enough juice does that mean my ground might to be grounded right.. its groued inbewteen the center and driver side rear belt harness i sanded the paint around that. Ok Tell me again how to get the right signal. I tap the orange wire thats my remoter right? and opened up the brown thing and tap both of those and ran that to my amps input.

by the way whats your email address austin.
