Question Need 12V under the front passenger dash.

I am installing a 1/2 Din DVD player under the front passenger dash and am in need of 12V auxiliary power for it. Can anyone suggest the wire to tap in to for it? I do not want to go all the way to the fuse box on the driver side, as I then will have to go around the middle counsel some how. Thank you in advance!

could you tap into the actual 12V cigarette lighter somehow?

tap into to the srs harness under the pass seat, closest source of power

the cig lighter under the arm rest or in front of the shifter.

Looking around more, there is another fuse box on the passenger side of the dash. I'm thinking of using an Add-a-Fuse to double up on one of the fuses, perhaps the stereo one. I think its a better alternative then to cut in to another wire if I don't have to.

Fuse panel on driver's side dash too. Beware if you remove certain fuse(s) there it can set the SRS light. Disc. the battery first if any doubt. Avoid the types of taps that spread the fuse leg receptacles in the box. They can cause trouble later (loose fuses).

Got a bit of a problem, connected the DVD player using an Add-a-Fuse on the line side and to the ground bolt on the neutral. The problem is that I now have noise on the audio side. When I accelerate the noise gets louder. I am currently looking in to Power Line Noise Filters. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like alternator whine. I would look into finding another power supply.

Yes, easiest to try another 12v supply point and/or ground. Make certain all connections are clean & tight. Soldered connections & terminals are best. Then try other stuff like filters.
