If all you are doing is replacing the speakers, you won't lose the voice. BUT, I don't recommend just replacing the speakers as they will sound distorted in a lot of cases or just WORSE than the stock speakers as the impedance of the bose system is extrememly low.

I agree 1000%. Here's why:

The Blowz power amp provides 2 ohm output impedances to its cheesy 2 ohm input impedance Blowz low-fi speakers. All of the quality hi-fi car stereo speakers are rated at a 4 ohm input impedance.

Therefore, it's crucial to replace your Blowz power amp with a quality amp that provides 4 ohm output impedances. The good news is that all of the quality aftermarket power amp upgrades provide 4 ohm output impedances.

Ok, heres the situation. I was going to gut the whole stereo and install my stereo from my suv. I recently had my alarm/remote start installed at my shop and my installer asked about getting video on my navi instead of using my alpine in-dash screen. So now I'm thinking i keep my stock radio but replace everything else (speakers, amps, etc) but i want to keep the navi voice. I doubt there is a way, but there i, let me know. Thanks

I don't get you guyz. It's distracting enuf to drive and use our NAVI unit functioning as it was intended, but NOW you want to watch DVD movies on it and drive as well? And I thought people who talked on cell phones were a menace... And don't tell me that DVD video is needed so your three kids in the back seat will be occupied during those long trips to see grandma.

Forgetting this DVD-viewing foolishness, there is no reason why you can't do an installation similar to mine while retaining your OEM (factory) head unit and keep your NAVI happy. BTW, what components did you rip out of your SUV?

Actually buddy it has nothing to do with pleasing kids or any other bullshit like that. Car audio hppens to be a hobby of mine and my car appears in many competitions and shows because of that. Just because this kind of stuff doesn't interest you doesn't mean that it is wrong. Get a Life.

Oh, and i "ripped" two sets of MB Quart Q series separates powered by a rockford 800a4. I also removed an Alpine CVA-1005, a rockford PA2 (pre-amp), two optima batteries, a one farad digital power cap, two rockford power punch 15s, mmats D200HC, alpine in-dash DVD unit, PS2 and 2 6.5" Alpine headrest monitors. I've gone this far with this shit, a little movie on my navi is just another toy.

And...you're planning on installin' ALL of this into your lil' sports GT...ALL of these toys? FYI, I use my audio equipment to actually listen to music, and the NAVI unit to keep me from getting lost -- they're not "toys" per se. BTW, I didn't drop $10K on this stuff--YOU are the one who needs to get a life, buddy...

Actually, whatever floats your boat as long as you don't turn your ride into a "boom-box, ricer" car. After you do your install, let us know how it turns out head unit-wise,etc. and post some pix.

You point is well-taken. I took my CHILL-PILL. Sorry for my negative-sounding feedback. Although I don't understand your car video hobby, I am an avid home theatre phreak, and have always been a fan of new technology.

To overcome the errors of my ways, I've been looking at pix of some of the custom car video installs, and I am pretty impressed at what you guyz have managed to do, in particular the video monitors.

Again, my apoplogies for being so narrow-minded. Unfortunately, that can happen sometimes when you hit middle-age.
