The total cost was about $25 and yes I used the avc-rgb1. I found it on e-bay used with a pioneer monitor avd-505 for $200.

If you connect ANYTHING to the navi other than what it is intended for it VOIDS the warranty, even if it's a plug in harness.
I have been on the phone direct with American Honda to ask this question.

StreetEffectz,
What you stated is very true.... However when something breaks.... main unit(DVD), display, ect. By simply unplugging the addon stuff, returning it to factory apperance will not void your warranty. Now if he went behind the display unit and cut/ or shall i say 'chopped' factory wires that is a huge NO NO!!!
When I was employed at a honda dealership, I would see this done all the time, not so much on NAVI, but aftermarket amps'speaker wires',civic radios hanging in the wind due to the remote locks, what have you, We would stick it to the customer, unless he/she had the car serviced by us, 'a regular'. The reason being WARRANTY works pays crap compared to customer PAY! Being a tech 'flat rate' why get paid .5 'warranty' for job when the customer screwed it up- or the installer, It wasn't honda/acura's fault why should the tech suffer..So we would stick em for book time plus parts

I was a little concerned about doing the EQ bypass in my TL since im no longer employed by honda/acura. So what I did was...I dug into my tool box and found a male-female connectors and terminals, unplugged the pins from the connectors and performed the loop. Now lets say few months from now something blows up i just go back in and return it to factory, no one will ever know someone was 'playing'
I'm pretty sure thats why he went with the connectors

Do you have any updates on where you got it from?

Planning on installing soon, and don't want to cut the wires.

Thanks
