It's cheaper, but with a completely justified explanation.....
The AVelectronics kit is a composite to rgb decoder, tv tuner, 2 A/V input, 1 A/V output, headphone output, antennas, backup camera ready, etc etc all in one unit that's plug and play.
This item is just a board that converts composite to rgb

You are absolutey correct. I in no way meant to knock the other complete units out there. The type of units you would get from SE are complete plug and play units, what I have is more geared to the timid do-it-yourselfer. By timid I mean not willing to by a relatively expensive piece of equipment like the GEX-P7000 TV tuner and start opening it up and soldering to it to modify it. My intent was to target those who are interested in the RGB-1 mod and have had no luck finding the discontinued part.
I have an Anaba TV tuner UTS-1300 which looks very similar (externally) to the AV electronic units i have seen. My reception sucks, I have tried all sorts of antenna locations with no luck. I live near Philly right now, and all the other places in the NE with the exception of Manhattan have pretty crappy reception while driving. I think it just wasn't meant to be to have broadcast TV in your car, or maybe I just got a bad tuner or something.
Anyway, sorry if I mislead anyone with my thread title, and thanks to the guys at Street Effectz for being so responsive with the many questions I have asked them recently via e-mail.

Oh no no, not at all. I didn't mean the thread was misleading, I just wanted to make sure people didn't think it was the same as the AVelectronic unit, that's all. We've gotten a lot of calls about different boards and products from different post and just want everyone to be aware of the differences with them all.
On a lighter note, that link is great. I've personally been looking for other boards to use and these just might do the trick
Thanks!
