NAVI screen mod

Hey guys, im new to this site, dont know if this has been brought up already...but I was at a local car audio shop getting my amp/sub installed and the owner told me for $600 he can put in a camera on my rear bumber and I can view the image through my navi screen. Is that possible? He also said that the screen can be hooked up to a dvd player. I was under the impression that the navi screen could not support video. Has anyone seen this or had it done to their navi?

This is possible, and has been done by a few member on the board. Try searching for "nav conversion" or "avelectronics". avelectronics was the first, or one of the first to make the module to do this. Also look in the group buy section. there was a GB a whiles back that had deep discussions about worries and other things.

Welcome to the site btw!

$600 for the whole bang ? parts (Video Conversion Kit, Camera) + Installation ?
That's a very good deal. I'd do it.

a vendor who is also a member of this forum has MANY posts about his product.
He wanted like $800 for the whole job.

This is an option on the MDX, which I assume has the same Navi.

I frankly don't see the point of spending that much on a camera setup. I'd rather get a better audio setup.

Summit...where are you getting this done? I'm in San Juan Capistrano and I'd like it if it's $600.

I'd ask myself : "I intend to keep the car for long, can I gurrantee I will never ever hit while backing in the next 10 years ?"

I'd do it cos it would totally take the fear out of me while backing back for hiting
something or scrape exhaust tips/muffler.

TSX ass is just so high up to have agood view.
