Alpine & iPod
Check this out - http://www.alpine-usa.com/driveyouripod/ipod_demo.htm
This Apline head unit actually comes "ready" to hook up to your iPod. Then, you can search etc on the Apline unit and the track names come up. Too bad I like my stereo. Maybe they'll start making this an option in more factory stereos pretty soon..

Actually the guy at my local sterio shop gave me the rundown on Alpine's new iPod cable. Basically this cable ($150 i think), hooks up to any Alpine AiNet head unit (model starting with CDA), using the CD changer port in the back of the head unit. The other end of the cable hooks up to your iPod. Once connected, your iPod splash screen changes to "Alpine" now allowing you to use your Alpine head unit to control your iPod. This means pure digital playback. The thing also charges your iPod while its connected. The cable just came out on the market few weeks ago.
