TSX: Navi to Non-Navi
Navi to Non-Navi
Has anyone successfully removed their Navi from a TSX and replaced it with a non-navi? I never used the (now not working) navi anyway and am tired of screwing with it after replacing the DVD drive and still not having it work.
Thanks in advance.

Hi !
Sorry for the late reply, I got a non-navi radio from a pick-a-part junkyard (like 30$).
Im pretty sure any head unit from 2004 to 2008 would work. Only restriction would be to find one that has the same trim color (as there was 2 interior colors on those TSX, beige/wood and black/silver).
Then its a matter of plug and play, IIRC, I was able to swap the radio in less than 15-20 minutes.
And oh, while you're there, you can install a Bluetooth/AUX module that fits in the back port of the radio, plug and play again (and steering control works! like 30 bucks on Amazon)
Good luck !

The kit I have is this one
It gives you aux in, Bluetooth, steering control, sdcard, usb, phone charge..
As for doing it once, adding the kit is so easy, it's only a matter of clipping out the storage box, and plugging 1 cable that is located UNDER the radio head unit. You don't need to take the radio out.
Cheers!

There is not much to screw up on this one
My advice would be:
- make sure you have the radio code of your new unit. Ideally BEFORE diving in the project
if you go though a pick-a-part junkyard, check in the glovebox for the owners manual, or a sticker on the left side of the glovebox with a few (5-6) digits on it.
IF you can't find it, make sure to, at least have the serial number (its on a white sticker on top of the deeper CD section), Acura dealers should give you the response code for free.
you will need this code once you initially turn the radio on.
Cheers!
