Navi Conversion PnP -- Vsokolov Unit - Need Some Insight
Installed everything today and everything went smooth.. I didn't see any lines on the screen with the car started which is good..
The Problem:
With the Video source hooked up the horizontal alignment is about a 1/4"+ or more to the right on the screen.. I popped the main unit open to take a quick glance to see if there was a Horizontal/ Vertical adjustment on there, and there isn't.. Anybody have any troubleshooting ideas or possible problems..??

It could be that the adapter box doesn't like that particular video source unit... if you have something else with Yellow-RCA out I'd try it and see how it looks. It could be some kind of rare incompatibility. Seen this with early proto drop-down units with PS2s...
Jonesi, I have the same issue with the converter hooked up into TV-out of my computer. It's offset to the right and even when adjusting the display properties of the display adapter in Windows to move the picture all the way to the left, its still alittle off center.

I saw two complaints about the lines but no one complained about the offset..
I already spoke to Vsolokov and he said to return the unit and he'll replace it..

That will be my first test before I send it back..
Can never beat experienced knowledge.. Thanks..
haha its a funny thing Juve...i think we have the same problems with this thing
NOt only do we both have lines on the screen, but mine is also offset'd to the right just like jonesi... THE ONLY problem is, i bought this converter from someone who bought it from Vsokolov- in other words i am the second owner... So i dont know if any warranty applies and if i should bother asking vsokolov.
Elduderino- i have a DVD player hooked up to the screen... are there any troubleshooting points which i can try out to fix this??? i have no setting on the DVD player for horizontal or vertical settings...
thanx

No, at this point the guy who sells these is really the authority.
I think I can get rid of those lines with external power filtering, I've done it before cleaning up multiple installs of product that lacked internal filtering (it costs money so many OEMs don't put enough in).
It's POSSIBLE, but certainly NOT a lock, that the noise that causes the video lines also causes lock instability and so is also causing the image shift. I would not want to tell you that adding the filter will fix that - I don't know. But if noise is coming in the power wire and getting into the video signal, it would inhibit the ability of the video IC to lock on the signal properly. So, again, it's worth a try.
