As requested by a few already, here are some pics of my IPOD install:










It uses a wired/powered FM modulator (Clarion) and the sound quality
is the best you can get after a TRUE LINE-IN which is not yet available
for this vehicule's panasonic head-unit (unfortunately).

A Belkin 12v DC power adapter is used to feed power to the cradle (which
was spray painted black as you can obviously see). The cradle was also
screwed down into one of the cup holders.

The FM modulator picks up its source directly from the IPOD cradle rather
than from the Belkin's "pseudo line-out". The Belkin's line-out is not a true
line-out since it has a volume amplification/reduction built-in. Sound quality
is better directly from the IPOD cradle which is a true high-powered line-out.

This setup allows:

1) the IPOD to be sitting inclined so I can see it while driving

2) the cup-holder door to be slided in closed position when the IPOD is not being used
(the door can't be slided in the closed position when the IPOD is in the cradle)

3) the loss of one of my two cup holders (no big deal for me)

4) no IPOD wire mess laying around in the car at all

The pictures were taken as we got back from our NJ beach vacation so the
car interior is kinda dusty as the photos can tell ... Sorry!
