Mute control of entertainment system

I've seen posts about using pin #14 on the HU to cause the system to mute. Does anyone know if this includes "muting" the climate control system as it does when you press the voice button -- if the climate control is blowing air from the dash it cuts out while it is waiting for you to speak.

I've never tested that - but I'd bet one million dollars against it.

I've tested the mute signal on pin #14. It works and does in fact mute the stereo. The harness is plugged directly into the back of the HU headunit, so I doubt that the stereo would be controling the a/c unit itself.

I'm guessing the a/c unit must have it's own input to tell it to stop blowing air. If you can get a hold of a Helms manual you should be able to look this up.
