mtx re-q bass restoration

has anyone ever used the mtx re-q volume sensing bass restoration on their stock cd player

I've never seen it used, I'd be interested to see the feedback.. I checked Amazon and Buy.com and there aren't any reviews on it. I did notice the price seems down to around $50ish. Which leads me to believe it's not a hot seller.
