I have the cassette thing but is there an A/C adapter that can be plugged into the laptop as well as the lighter in the car so the computer won't have to run off batteries?
if so, where can i find it
thanks

Some company named Digisette has come out with a portable MP3 player shaped just like a regular audio cassette tape; you can use it as a portable Walkman-type player or insert it into your cassette player (similar to those cassette adapters so that you can use your portable Discman or similar CD player to listen to CD tunes through your car cassette deck).
It's a very simple (not necessarily the best or most elegant, however) solution for those of you who want to play MP3s through your stock head unit. Ever wondered if you'll ever use the cassette deck on it (what was Acura thinking of)? Wonder no more...
Downside is that this product isn't relatively cheap (retail $199), plus it comes with only 64 MB, expandable to only 128 MB (or is it 96 MB--see my comment below). It also doesn't look like it will be easy to use when in "cassette" mode, since the controls are on the cassette shell itself unless you buy the remote control (sold separately).
Digisette's website has info on it, although some of it seems to be confusing as to what the specs are for it.

i have my mp3 discman hooked up and that works well. I have it hidden under my armrest plugged into that ac slot under there. it holds more than those memory sticks and i can rewrite my cd which holds 700mb instead of 128mb at most. i heard of a wireless tape adapter for discman.
