Motorized TV's with Navi?

Does any one have pics of a motorized LCD that replaced their HU with Navigation working? im willing to sacrifice the lady's sound with the navi cuz that's already starting to bother me... Besides SLY-TLS, who has a DOPE setup, i've never seen it done on a CL...

Why don't you do the Navi conversion to take video input?

pangpang77- you too have a great setup, much time and effort into makin that setup in ur mdx, props to you... but i'd rather not do that b/c i heard the navi screen is not all that great of a screen to begin with... and from what i've read in other places in this forum is that i would need to buy something else and attach it on to the back of the navi? and that i would lose sound? all that is fine i guess...but my main objective is to find a setup where i can see the navi while simultaneously watchin a dvd/videogame... ANYONE in this forum done that?

Brian,
First of all, the fact that the Navi Screen is not all that great is not true. Actually, Ron tells me it's one of the best screens he's ever seen (and he's seen a LOT of them), and I must agree with him. I have a nice flip-down with res of 1440 x 234, but my passengers always tell me the Navi screen is much clearer and the picture is much sharper.

Second, you do not loose sound. There is an adapter that goes from the DVD player or whatever your video source is directly into the CD changer port. The sound is amazing!! It will cost you $70.

Yes you do need a converter and a tuner, for more info, you can contact Ron at streeteffectz or check out www.video-nav.com , but it will probably run you $600 instead of $1,000 plus for a motorized screen...

Just my 2 cents...

pang-
Thanks for your input I just wanna first off say that I'm grateful for your input and will consider doing so. I checked out the video-nav.com site and was very surprised that it was quite affordable. But in my case, I already received an Alpine motorized screen (as a gift) and am planning on installing it. This notion of "video-nav" conversion is also quite interesting. I haven't followed up on it in a while, but when i first started reading stuff about it, I remembered someone saying that I would have to sacrifice sound. I suppose technology does move very fast and I'm not up to date.
secondly, where did you get this adaptor that goes from the DVD player into the CD changer port? im very interested
thanx again

It's an adapter made by blitzsafe , you can check it out on www.blitzsafe.com . You can also e-mail Ron at info@streeteffectz.com . He carries them and he's got a real good deal on them.

that looks hot... except the fact that you can't simultaneously view the navi... strange why you would set it up like that, no?

There was someone that moved their stoked navi screen to the location of the stock headunit and put an aftermarket screen (non-motorized) where the stock navi screen was. I saw this a long time ago and I am not sure who it was.

No problem bro, there are only so many ways you can do the same thing. I tried it with the screen on top 1st...it's obvious that the navi is useless if a movie is playing and you are on a long trip b/c the screen is blocked. That's why I opted for this setup.

Listen... I have a cl with navi and went through this same problem . I removed the factory radio and drove the car around . All you lose is the voice and sound . Everything else operates normally . You don't have to buy anything . I don't have any pic's yet but will post them soon

sorry, didnt know anyone replied... i didnt get a email notice!! I used da Alpine IVA C801, CDA 5755, and the 6 disc DVD changer. I moved the navi down so i can view the TV better. You'd be surprised how much better i can watch movies havin it up there than down there. I rarely use my navi anyway, but it works just as fine down there....

yeah.... i spent quite a bit already... that is why i have no THUMP yet!!! I spent about 3Gs on the equipment and 500 to install. I cant wait till i do my trunk. So far i got my JL 1000/1, ID CD2 Comps, Diamond Hex S600, and Diamond coaxials.... i still need to get more JL amps and the two 10 W7s. I must sell my bike soon to finish my sytem!! Having just a TV sucks wit no thump

And yes Latinsmoke, i did lose my navi voice.... damn!! she sounded sexy too... heh... but watchin music videos while driving sure made me get over that navi voice!!

Why not go with the Navi conversion? Get the www.video-nav.com device for $299, get the Pioneer tuner for $299, everything's switched through the remote, it's $600 total and you don't loose the Navi voice. As a matter of fact, the Navi voice can guide you to where you're going even when you're watching a movie...
