Juss outta curiousity, does anyone have a Clarion Motorized LCD HU? I was talkin to one of the guys who installed my Alpine CVA-1006, and he said that he was going to switch to a Clarion HU soon b/c the picture quality is better...

if you are after picture quality check out the eclipse av8022... that unit probably has the best picture quality out of all of the flip out units..

 

i just put in the clarion headunit. very cool. i'll post some pix tomorrow.

where did you guys get the faceplate to go along with your decks?

 

Made it myself, out of 1/8 steel. Welded the brackets and used some aluminun trim that i had.

 

My installer made mine out of 1/2 in wood with metal brackets! I get it finished on monday...It will look like bnavarro's

 

My friend has the Clarion...to tell you the truth...the LCD screens are all the same resolution. 480x 234 pixels or 1440 x 234 dots. Why is there more dots then pixels? Because 3 dots *red, blue, yellow* make up one pixel. There are only 2 companies i know of that makes Hi Res monitors...and they are not in-dash...these hi res monitors suffers from insufficent brightness to direct sunlight...so most of the indash monitors have lower res with higher brightness.

 

i don't kno if i understand you correctly, but not all LCD screens have the same picture quality... and i don't think that they all have the same resolution which you can tell just by lookin at them...
the stock navi for instance has a better picture quality than my aftermarket screen does(unfortunately) and therefore im concluding that not all LCDs have the same picture quality... im not really lookin for technical solutions like pixel and dots, i juss want crisp quality lookin pictures
