More Viper 550 questions...

I had the installer hook up the factory disarm. But he said a few things I don't understand.

He said the wire for this on my 2002 CL_S, was in the drivers side door by the factory security light. He said the DEI printout is wrong, & he called DEI to verify. He said he grounded it out, & now the factory alarm does not work at all. The factory remotes do not work. Is this correct?

If the factory alarm doesn't work at all, do I still have the part that needs the electronic key. Meaning is that also disabled now too, or is it a seprate system. Can anyone hot wire my car now, & drive off? The installer couldn't give me an answer.

He also said he could not get the radio to come on with the remote start. He said it must be something in the factory electronics that requires the key in the ignition. He hooked up the wires that should make it work, yet it still doesn't. Is that also correct. This is a real PITA. I never had these issues in the other car I had this system in.

A lot of places will just bypass the factory alarm by grounding it. I can tell you, though, unless I'm not thinking straight, that he could have just grounded the factory hood pin, unless he used it. All your other features will still work, and no one can start the car with out the correct key.
