Question More Audio System Questions

I have read this forum for a very long time and have never posted. Now I am considering purchasing a Type-S and have some questions. I have spent a lot of time and money "improving" my '99 Honda Odyssey. The Audio system was really bad so I added an Alpine 5 Channel Amp along with a custom made subwoofer. I ordered some MB Quart speakers to replace the cheaply made OEM speakers but never used them. With just the amp and sub, the sound improved tremendously. When I test drove a Type-S this weekend, I was amazed how much cleaner and brighter the Ody's sound system was compared to the Type-S' Bose. I know the Type-S doesn't have seperate tweeters and read that many of you have added them along with amps and subwoofers. Some questions:
1. If I add the amp and subwoofer is this enough to "brighten" the sound?
2. Can I reuse the 5-Channel Alpine Amp, or do I need seperate amps?
3. How hard are installing tweeters and getting them to work with the Bose speakers?

Thanks

1) probably not. adding amp and sub box will give you more defined, tighter bass. When you say brighten, you mean the highs and midrange, correct? Well if the stock speakers are still in there, it will still sound yucky. When you say custom made subwoofer, you mean custom made sub box? If so, it may not fit (hence the word custom). If it's one of those prefab sub boxes like JBL, MTX, etc. it will probably fit. Check to make sure.

2) you can definitely use the 5-channel amp. As I don't know the
spec of your amp, I can't really say how the hookup will be. But to be on the safe side, each channel goes to each speaker (LF, LR, RF, RR), with the last channel to run the sub. If I were you, don't use the last channel to run the sub as you might not have enough power to run it; just use the sub amp to run the subs.

3) depends on how much you're willing to spend. For cost savings, just get co-axial speakers (tweeter built into midrange
speaker), and stick it in the factory speaker location. I recommend MB Quart, Focal, AVI, or Alpine speakers. Audition them and see which ones you like better.

Hope this helps
