Monitors in the Headrest

Has anyone had monitors installed in the headrest on their 2000 TL?

If so, what did you pay for the installation?

I had a place tell me it would cost $2000 just for installation.
This seems a little high, so I wanted to check with others....

What kinda monitors did you have installed? Do you like them?

Thanks,

David

You can haggle with Cartoys, keep haggling until they bring down the price or try to get them to throw in a bunch of free stuff. If see it done myself. They are willing to go down in price for your business

We do them...I recommend 6.4" monitors, which we charge $750 per seat installed. That includes the monitor, wiring, new covers, etc.

Very Nice!!!

So if I was gonna do this job myself..considering your in NJ.. what kind of advice would you give me as far as the best way to mount the screens, the best screens to use, which screens to stay away from etc.

Give me the install bible on these bad boys..

Excellent install BTW.. Looks excellent

Headrest mounts you can install yourself are Clarion's HRM-100s. It houses Clarion monitors only, like 7" VMA-7191. The install requires you tape a provided paper template on the headrest and cut approx. 4x6 hole. Remove the foam to expose the headrest mounting bars inside. Then use the 4 provided tie-wraps to pull the monitor housing flush against the headrest. Simple! The slightly up angle on this monitor housing helps position the LCD for better viewing.

HRM-100 with VMA-6491 6.4" monitor

VMA-7191 7" monitor

Hey Steve,

See what you started Dammit!! :P

First the Navi convertion, next the playstation went in.. Now I'm looking at headrest units!!

The only thing I don't like about this is it kinda sticks out, not as nice looking as the flush mount version...

Have you done any of the flush mount screens?

Any advice or know somewhere reasonable to have them installed..
Have any extra screens laying around? worth a check

THanks Steve

Dave
