Little bit of a problem

I bought a pair of Alpine type S 6.5 coax speakers and I tried testing them out before installing them but I accidentally broke off the negative connector on the speaker when trying to take off the female connector coming from the wire. So Im a little pissed at myself for being careless. anyways, is there a way to get the speaker running with the missing negative connector or do I have to buy a whole speaker? Please say there is!!

I bought them from a local audio store but I want to avoid going back there. They have bad customer service and they recommended the wrong size speaker to me the first time.

hmmm... you could always try returning them and saying it was broken right out of the box.... just throw the little piece you broke off in the box as well.

other than that, it might work if you solder or weld it back on

I agree, with previous post, You said you tested the speakers, If you liked the way they sound, As long as they work when hooked up, who cares what the connections look like.

Especially since nobody is going to know unless you tell them. Invest and buy one of those "cool" cold tip battery powered solder tools and some electronic solder.

Solder coat the speaker wire tip ( Yea, you can cut the connector off if you want to do this, I would. you can always replace it in the future.) and the remaining speaker connections first, then join them toegether.

Do not overheat the connections, more is not better. When completed, lightly tug wire to confirm a good solder connection.

Good Luck,

RJay
