Lights are out after installing aftermarket fog lights
Hey guys,
I was wondering if any one else has had this happen to them while installing aftermarket fog lights. After plugging the switch and the wires together I turned it on and the illuminated switch went out. I didn't realize at first but when I drove off tonight the parking lights were dead, all the rear lights were dead, the courtesy lights were also dead. I figure this is from a blown fuse...can't think of anything else as the other lights work inside the car. I did purchase a different color switch from the one that PIAA sent with the lights (factory switch is amber, I bought a blue one to match the interior of the car.) The switch I bought was rated at 15 amps, should be enough to handle the load from the fog lights. After reading the manual I can't seem to find the fuse for these lights...can anyone help me out on this one, I really don't want to be driving around town with my rear lights not working and I have to get this fixed today as my work schedule won't allow me to take my car into Acura this week. Thanks in advance for your help.

Well, I found the culprit for this one. It is the "small lights" fuse in the fuse box located in the engine compartment. It's a 15 amp mini fuse. So if you guys ever have the parking lights, taillights, courtesy lights, a/c and stereo lights go out...you might wanna check this fuse.
Here is my problem now. I installed Hella Optilux series fog lights on my TSX a while back. I tapped the Accessory wire into my parking lights and ran everything to the relay. The power wire for the fog lights has a built in 15 amp fuse which didn't blow. I unplugged the power wire just to be curious and the switch for the fog lights was lit and with a 20 amp fuse in the small lights fuse slot it still blew. Can anyone figure this one out? So I unplugged all the wires from the switch and tested the lights again with a 15 amp fuse and everything works fine. Now I really want those fog lights to run and I'm stuck not knowing how to hook them up properly. Should I just remove the tap from the parking lights and plug the Acc. wire directly into the fuse box? Why would the fog lights still come on and blow a fuse if the power wire was disconnected? Is the Acc. wire not needed for this hookup? I did purchase an aftermarket switch that is lit up in blue instead of the orange switch that came with the lights, could the switch be the reason the fuses keep blowing. I feel like a noob because I can hook up shit like this with no problem, but I can't troubleshoot for the life of me. I would really appreciate anyones advice on this one, I'm in a bind and I don't want to be out any money with these fog lights. Thanks in advance.
