Kenwood Excelon DDX7015

Would this fit into/replace the stock one? Since it's a double din type.

not too sure cause i have a CL, but thats getting installed in my car this weekend.

It will fit but, you are going to need a custom trim ring to surround it. Otherwise, you will have huge gaps all the way around the unit. You could possibly modify one of the single Din kits to work as basically a faceplate as well.

That would depend on how fancy you wanted. Someone could probably cut a piece of plexi and paint it and be done with it. Or you could have a custom fiberglass piece made that fits perfect and looks stock.

Personally, I have wondered if you could bolt the double din unit to the factory brackets and take the Metra kit and use a dremel and cut the opening until it just slips over the double din. Basically, the Metra kit would just be used as a trim ring.

i have a pic of another cl owner that did it into his cl premium. looks pretty good. mind should look similar, but im in the process of finding out what the stock cd player faceplate is made out of so i can replace it with the new stuff and look stock.

how can i host this pic?

I'm in the process of modifing the Metra kit to fit my double din HU. It's a pain. If it does not come ok I'll have to get a custom one made.

i was very close to getting that unit, but i decided to get a cheaper unit. its GREAT. ur gonna need a custom trim. i bought mine from shawhite, he made one out of fiberglass that matches the wood trim. looks nice.

Man I was thinking of getting this very same set up for my TL-S. I've found it for 1300 on Crutchfield but thats it. Where did you get yours?
