Keep headunit/speakers add aftermarket sub + amp
i have searched and searched and haven't been able to find anything in regards to my problem. i want to keep the speakers and the headunit but want to replace the sub and its amp with after market. how do i go about doing this? thanks
What do you mean like you want just to add an amp and sub to a factory system?
If so just get yourself i line out converter, and an amp kit.
I work with car electronics for a living so if you've got any questions feel free to post up. I just purchased a CL a week or so ago so i'll be on the forum a bit.

If you want to keep your factory head unit and speakers but add an aftermarket sub youll need a line out converter and an amp installation kit. Youll also want to take out the factory sub and put some form of cloth cover over the hole to stop the light from the third brake light coming through.
I heard when u get a line converter when u turn up the volume it distorts the bass and sounds bad... I mean that's what I heard... I been wanting to do the same but don't want to speand the money just so I can sound worst then stock.. besides I just bought a 04 tsx and the sub sounds way better then my 05 tl

i believe in the trunk right were your stock sub is at you can tap into the wires there. but i think the best place is to tap them right at the headunit before it goes through the factory amp. someone correct me if im wrong

You won't have any problems with distortion.
