Just installed XM w/Blitzsafe and ProFit bracket!

Well, saved myself some $$$ and installed my Blitzsafe and ProFit bracket w/swivel today for my XM Delphi Ski Fi unit. Sound quality is way..way...way better than that sorry azz cassette adapter.

Once again, AcuraTL.com came through for me. After researching here in the electronics forum, I was able to get directions on removing my factory stereo to plug in the blitzsafe, where to buy the custom bracket, and best of all, saved money on install costs.

Getting the stereo out was not nearly as tough as I thought it was going to be. I actually had more problems trying to pop out the wiring harness for the heated seat switches. After that..smooth sailin! Here are some pics of the final install. I'm trying to figure out another way to run the wires, but without cutting holes, there's bound to be wires showin somewhere. I figured the wiring covers I put on should do for now.

Thanks again folks!!!

last one..keep in mind, this is a close up and the wires seem like they jump out at you, but these are not really visible to the passenger. Just when you open the door. I am trying to find an alternative wiring plan, but not sure how to go about it yet. I'm thinking pull some slack for the antenna wire and put it in the same wire cover as the power and line out are fed into. Then, only one wire cover will be present. Hmm.

Nice install

Got a question for you - Do you still have your navigiation system sounds (voice directions, etc.) after installing the Blitzsafe adapter?

Thanks

Still got voice and the "Bing" sound. It also still lowers the volume slightly when she speaks. I don't know how installing blitzsafe would affect the NAVI. If it does, didn't happen to me whatsoever

Thanks. I was told by the manufacturer of a similar adapter (the PIE) that using it meant losing the navigation audio, supposedly because it occupied the same 14-pin connector on the back of the radio. I'm not sure if I believe that (I'll have to take a look at the schematics), but I saw you had NAVI and just wanted to get some first-hand experience with the Blitzsafe.

Installing Blitzsafe does not affect navigation if you buy th right part for the car. The best way to get the right part is to order from Blitzsafe directly!

the sound lowering is probably because of the XM unit when it is in it's dock it is uses sound so the voice might lower from the XM Unit!
