Just added my Ipod

I took all the info that schalliol provided on his thread...
schalliol's thread and the pics that Mojo had on his site and installed my Ipod.
I used the SNhond03 to the Radio Shack ground loop isolator to a a Belkin Auto Charger w/Audio for iPod to the Ipod. I also added a power outlet behind the dash, to plug in the Belking auto charger.

Works and sounds great.

Monster iCarPlay???

http://www.monstercable.com/computer...r.asp?pin=2084

Does anyone know if this is any good? Is sound quality compromised?

Sounds like an easy way to hook up an iPod tho.

FM modulation blows. Bite the bullet and get an aux adaptor like SNHOND3 or the Blitzsafe. It'll be worth the $100 or so.

I bought my Ipod and that same adapter. Their was always sporadic static. It took it back once I finish my mod and it sound soooooooo much clearer. and you don't have to worry about the battery running out.

I bought the
$86.00 snhond with tax
$42.38 Belkin adapter
$21.45 Radioshack GLI
$06.37 Extra power outlet
156.20 Total before extra Navi cable
$42.38 Extra cable for Navi users
198.58 My total cost.

I hope this give you guys an idea of what the mod really costs.

More Pics

Thanks Ortiz...

Is it possible to post more pics of your setup??

I want to see what it looks like without the ipod there and also where you place the ipod when you are driving.

Also, does your mod allow you to control the ipod from the steering wheel???

Thanks....

I looked into those small Ipods but they only hold 4GBs. I already have 13.5GBs of music on my Ipod. So the Ipod mini won't work for me.

i want the mini b/c its just more practical, atleast to me. im not quiet sure how it is having to find songs thro 14gigs, but i could see where someone would want one to store all their mp3s. i dont think ill ever be on the road long enough to even listen up to 4gigs of mp3s, i wish there was actually a 2giger.

I am about 6 to 7 hours from you. But if you ever want to come up here I'm more than happy to help.

I used to think the same way until my friend gave me his old first generation 5 Gb iPod. I have it at 4.5 Gigs at the moment - about 3 days straight worth of music. :-D

I have a 20GB Neuros Audio Player. It's almost full at 18GB. Searching is easy...Random, By Artist, By Album, By Genre, or just a particular song.

And I've never listened to all of it at once (that's insane). I like having all my music on tap whenever.

Update for Navi owners. The extra cable needed for instalation (Part Number SKU : 08A31-0E1-010)is now $29.40 at honda cheap parts. They will charge 8.5% tax and 9.95 for fed X shipping but with tax and everything it costs $41.85 to get if to your door.

You can save yoruself 9.95 if you live close to them they are at...

Here are the basic instructions on my install. First remove center cubby and “not an ash try”. I didn’t want to cut any of the factory wire harnesses. I took the accessory outlet I bought and attached blade connectors to it. I plugged them into the cars wiring harness. This means that my power outlet by the “not an ash tray” is a non operational outlet. Next I plugged my Belkin Ipod power cable to the accessory outlet. To insure that it doesn’t come off I used Electrical tape to insulate it.

Attached the SNHOND03 adapter as indicated in the FAQ & Instructions: Aux Audio Adapter thread. I plugged in the SNHOND03 to the Radio Shack GLI. Using the RCA to 1/8"-jack adapter I plugged the GLI to the Belkin Ipod power cable. Make sure to turn the volume on the adapter up all the way.

After plugging everything in I used electrical tape to secure and insulate the connections. Here is a visual…

The SNHOND03 is tucked on the left side. I used a sponge to cushion the possible rattles.

The GLI and the Belkin Adapter are on the right side tucked away.

I cut a hole on the top of the cubby just behind the light, so that the light hole long enough to fit the Ipod connector through.

Then just shoved the cubby back in.

To hold the Ipod so I can see it while I drive I put a strip of Velcro on the inside of the door.

Now my Ipod is visible and hides in the cubby when not in use.

I hope this helps someone out. If you have questions just post and I’ll do my best to answer.

Icelink Ipod installation non-Nav TSX

hey guys... I am new here.. but after reading the faqs and the whole board.. I only noticed 1-2 people who posted about getting the icelink and installing it correctly..

I am not 100% sure what all i need.

I have my 3rd gen 15gb IPOD
and was planning on buying the SNHOND3.

But I wasnt sure if I need that if I am going to use the Icelink 1.1 adapter.

I also assume that I will need a power adapter as well.
Any info that people could give me would be well appreciated.

can't you just use the ITrip for the Ipod that connects to any frequency on the radio, and use a car charger to keep the Ipod charged? it just seems like a lot of work to add an ipod.

no need for the power adapter if youre going to get the icelink. if you get the whole icelink kit it comes with the snhond3. if you already have the snhond3 you can buy the icelink kit without it. you will not need the power adapter, monster cable (RCA cable), or ground loop isolator.
