JL7 not loud enough

I have had it for about a month now and it just isnt loud enough for me, or I am going deaf. I really cant think of a upgrade I can do under $500 to get it louder, I might get a vented box maybe. Also people were comparing the W7 = like 2 regular 12's?? I mean its still displacment of a single driver and thats what made me get the W7, O well I do have the smoothest damn bass I have ever heard though.

1000/1 is out the question for now, I just dont wanna put that much stress on the car, but the vented box is the upgrade I might do.

do you have the 4 ga wire going to your amps? maybe distributed with 10ga wire?

i am guessing it is bridged. make sure the hook up is correct and the ground befor you go spending money.

i mean that is at least 500 watts going to that woofer. that is really plenty. can't think of what else could it be.

500w is not enough to push that speaker to its full potential... and i can understand about not wanting to put the extra stress on the cars electrical system.. why do you think i sold my w7.. with the vented enclosure you will not need as much power so the 500/1 should work fine...

oh sig 1 um how do you bridge a mono amp...

jl 500/1 is a perfect match for that speaker get the jl ported box that they have on jlaudio.com model number ho11or w7. If you get that , and are still not satisfied get a power compacitor.

My God I had Ultimate Audio build be a custom ported box and the woofer just came to life. I say the bass is good enough to please me for a couple of month. All I can say is my poor TL all panels my flexing about a .25" inch or more.

Sig1. I have 4 gauge going to the back and 4 gauge from my blocks to the amps to. THe reason I say its not loud enough is my couple of last systems where pretty damn loud.

It made a huge differ. I mean it woke the woofer up. I still retain the same SQ, they said the box is tuned to about 28hz. Dude U will love the ported box.

well with the 500/1 it is gonna sound nice and clean. but if you really wanna wake the beast up out of that 12w7 your gonna need to get a 1000/1. trust me i jsut got the 1000/1 and jsut wanted to try it on my speaker and boy it was only turned alittle pass half way and it knoccs alot more. i like sealed boxes alot better the bass sounds alot mroe deep.

I love diamond audio but the W7 will stick a pole down in the Mac Daddies venting pole and wipe the floor with it. I am not saying it dosnt get loud, it just wasnt loud enough for me, If i am outside my car I can hear and feel my bass over 150 feet away with my vented box. 150 feet is almost 15 car length.

I have read alot about those, and many people love them, alot of peps on the RSX forum have them and alot of people talk about them on the Sounddomain forum. WHat is the cost of a Adire. There was a review on the Adire in Mobile Electronic magazine this past month.
