I have a JL W7, but the foam thing on the face of the sub ripped cause my brother dropped something on it...it still bumps and everything but that rip causes this sound that flaps about and stuff..is there any where to fix it? do you think if I sell it on ebay..anyone will buy it, if so, how much? thanks

here is the picture...I don't know how big it is..it's my brother's sub..but I got those squeegee things and put it next to it so you can possibly scale it.

actually you can get that reconed, and also u can remove that dustcap. If your dont care about the cosmetics of it just use black tape over the crack so the plastic dosnt rattle. I would actually contact JL audio and get it reconed. SInce its a 13w7 (by looks of size) shipping is going to be a btich.

Any JL Audio dealer can help and will send in your 12W7 to us for servicing.
Use the JL Audio Dealer locator to find the closest dealer to you. It takes
about 6-8weeks , the repair calls for all subwoofer parts to be replaced
except for the magnet and the basket. The cost is $470.00.

Ofcourse a lot of it has to do with opinion. I think the a 15" Brahma or an RE XXX would kick the s hit out of the W7. Just based on the specs, ofcourse the W7 will sound awesome with less power but if you can feed 1200 watts or more into a Brahma or a XXX in a 4 cuft ported box, they would take it hands down, and if you want even louder you can always feed these subs 2000-3000 watts. These subs are monsters compared to the W7.
Here you go. Buy a new one for about the same price.
