JL 250/1 + 12w6v2 ???
JL 250/1 + 12w6v2 ???
I sold my pair of 12w3v2 recently... two 12 inch subs were too much bass.
I'm pretty sure that i'm going to get one 12w6v2, but can i get by with 250/1 ?
I don't need extremely loud system as I'm more into clean quality sound. i know 12w6v2 has RMS power handling of 400watts, but i think 250 watt can be enough. any thoughts?

I think you should go for a 500/1.
With a 250/1 you would still be able to push it, but it would be underpowering it. This is bad for the voice coil on the woofer. If you're gonna upgrade you might as well do it right and get the recommended equipment.

I had this same question a while ago and I did a little research on my own. If u go to jlaudio.com and look at the tutorials for Steathboxes, they actually recommend the 250/1 for the H2 box which has a 12w6... so u know if jl calls for that amp than its fine. Go for it!!!!
